Step Into Our Stories: Building Your Learning Bundle

Step Into Our Stories is an invitation to learn alongside Indigenous educators, culture bearers, storytellers, language speakers, and community members who have helped shape this work from the beginning. Rooted in relationship, story, and Indigenous Knowledge Systems, this learning bundle was created to support deeper understanding and meaningful connections for educators, learners, families, and communities.

This video offers a guided introduction to the Step Into Our Stories website and the many resources available within it. As you explore, you will find teachings, learning experiences, maps, lesson plans, literature guides, and professional learning opportunities designed to support learning about the histories, cultures, and contemporary experiences of the federally recognized tribes in Michigan.

Developed through collaboration between the Confederation of Michigan Tribal Education Departments, the Indigenous Education Initiative, Tribal communities, educators, and trusted allies, Step Into Our Stories reflects a shared commitment to learning that is grounded in respect, reciprocity, and relationship.
