This course introduces educators and their allies to principles of Indigenous learning and teaching, and to the central theme of baabiinskaanmat, which describes the act of circling back and reflecting. As learning is ongoing and lifelong, educators are also viewed as learners, which represents a shift from traditional roles in education. This mindset challenges educators to move beyond being sole providers of knowledge and instead embrace a collaborative approach to learning with students.

This module serves as the first stepping stone of a journey that will transform the ways we learn, teach, and live. Together, we can foster learning environments that honor Indigenous ways of knowing, teaching, and connecting.

This course is not just for educators. We welcome all community members, advocates and interested citizens to work through this course.
